In the screen printing process, different grid sizes can be used for different applications. What is the mesh size? You may ask. Well, the mesh size is a measure of the intersecting polyester threads per square inch of screen (silk for centuries ago, so called "screen printing!"). For example, a 110 mesh screen will have 110 crossing lines per square inch. The higher the grid number, the finer the mesh.
The first factor to remember when choosing the grid size is the detail of the image. For example, if your image has high detail, the low-mesh screen simply cannot accommodate the detail. Thin lines or dots in the image will only fall into the holes in the grid, making you poorly express the appearance of the image. If your detail image is low and you use too many meshes, you will run into insufficient ink to cover your shirt.
